Talus slope zone

The area where the majority of accumulated rock debris is deposited at the base of a steep slope following a mass movement event (i.e., rockfall) (Wieczorek, et al. 1998).

A large talus slope zone encircles Abyss Lake in the Mt Evans Wilderness, Colorado.
